Medical Commercial Insurance Collector - (Lafayette) in Lafayette, Louisiana For Sale

Follow up on all claims from billing through final resolution. Review and prepare claims for manual and/or electronic billing submission. Correct and identify billing errors and resubmit claims to insurance carriers via electronic clearinghouse, mail and fax. Follow up on payment errors, low reimbursement, denials, via phone and internet with payers. Effectively utilizes various means for collections, including but not limited to phone, fax, mail, and online methods. Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers; resolves any customer requests in a timely and accurate manner; escalates complaints accordingly. Maintains frequent phone contact with provider representatives and third party customer service representatives. Reports any reimbursement trends/delays to supervisor (eg billing denials, claim denials, pricing errors, payments, etc.). Processes any necessary insurance/patient correspondence. Review Insurance EOB''s and initiate appeals as necessary for incorrectly processed claims. Preparation of refunds to Medicaid and commercial payers. Running, analyzing, and resolving aging reports for various insurance carriers. Hours, Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent Working knowledge of PPS, HMO and commercial health insurance claims Ability to analyze trends and resolve problematic claims issues Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and problem solve is a must Exceptional organizational and analytical skills required General knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding Proficient user of Microsoft word and excel and typing of 55 wpm Ability and desire to work in a fast paced deadline-driven environment. Ability to multitask and maintain a high-level of accuracy. Ability to sit, talk, listen, read and use computer and phone consistently through the day.
